Manchester United striker Robin van Persie’s agent is set to arrive in Italy to talk to his client’s suitors, a group which includes Juventus and Roma.

Injuries and lack of form have severely hampered his performances at Manchester United over the past couple of seasons and even Louis van Gaal has failed to help Van Persie recapture his old form.

Though Van Gaal was expected to rejuvenate his career at Old Trafford, the striker has done very little of note this term and has become a bit part player at Manchester United.

His contract runs out at the end of next season and though Van Persie is keen to sign an extension, Manchester United have shown very little inclination to offer him fresh terms and there is speculation that they are willing to listen to offers for the former Arsenal captain.

The Dutchman’s reputation as a clinical striker is still intact in some corners of Europe and he does have some takers in Italy, with Juventus and Roma believed to be interested in acquiring his services.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, the Dutchman’s agent is set to arrive in Italy to take stock of the situation and talk to his client’s suitors.

While there is also interest from Fenerbahce, Van Persie is known to be keen to continue in one of Europe’s major leagues and moving to Italy is an attractive proposition for him.
