Arsenal target Sami Khedira is close to agreeing a contract with Italian champions Juventus for a transfer to Turin, according to Madrid-based daily Marca.

The German midfielder is out of contract with Real Madrid this summer and he announced earlier in the year that he will leave the Spanish giants at the end of the season.

With a number of top clubs interested in acquiring his services, Khedira chose to take his time to decide on the future course of his career but it seems he has made a choice.

It has been claimed that he is on the verge of agreeing a contract with Juventus and is expected to ply his trade in Turin from next season.

Juventus’ recent domination of Italian football coupled with their impressive showing in this season’s Champions League have convinced Khedira to make a move to Italy at the end of the season.

Though Schalke’s interest in him is believed to have tempted the midfielder to move back to Germany, he feels he can reach greater heights in his career with the Bianconeri.

The latest revelation will come as a disappointment for Arsenal, who have been tracking Khedira since last summer and may have been hopeful of taking him to north London this time around.
