Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta has insisted that Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani is not a target for the club.

Cavani’s future at PSG has been a constant source of speculation and though the Parisians are still uncertain about selling him, the forward is rumoured to be seeking greener pastures.

With Cavani seemingly wanting a way out of the French capital, a number of clubs have been linked with a move for the striker this summer.

The English duo of Manchester United and Arsenal are thought to be keen to take the prolific Uruguayan to the British Isles at the end of the season but Juventus until recently have been considered the favourites to land Cavani.

There has been strong speculation that the Italian champions are laying down the groundwork to bring Cavani to Turin this summer but the club CEO squashed the speculation.

Marotta stressed that the Uruguayan was never a summer target for Juventus and all the rumours have very little credibility.

“Cavani is not a target for Juventus”, Marotta was quoted as saying by Sport Mediaset.

“What I am reading these days does not correspond with reality.”
