Gunnar Halle, who has been linked with becoming Uwe Rosler's assistant at Leeds United, feels the Whites should be playing Premier League football.

The Norwegian turned out as a player for Leeds between 1996 and 1999 and is now working in coaching. He was Rosler's assistant at Norwegian sides Lillestrom and Viking, while now he works with the Norwegian FA as a youth coach.

Halle has been strongly linked with following Rosler to Elland Road to work as his right hand man, but insists he has had no approach from the English club yet.

Instead Halle is concentrating on sending his best wishes to Leeds, a club he feels belong in the Premier League.

"Leeds are a great club with proud traditions and support from the fans", the former right-back told TV2.

"They are a team that should play in the Premier League and I hope that Rosler can build a team that will take them that next step up."

It remains to be seen whether Halle will be approached by Rosler, who has admitted he is looking to appoint an assistant, a first team coach and a head of recruitment in the coming weeks.
