Lyon manager Hubert Fournier has revealed that he is not too concerned about the speculation surrounding Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette’s future at the club.

Lacazette has been the top marksman in Ligue 1 this season and it was largely down to his exploits that Lyon finished second behind Paris Saint-Germain in the league.

The striker has also been named the French Player of the Year and is now one of the sought after forwards in European football.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is aware that he needs to do a lot of fire fighting to keep Lacazette at the Stade de Gerland but he is adamant that he is going to keep hold of his player this summer.

Lacazette until recently was making all the right noises about staying at the club but earlier this week he chose to deflect the questions surrounding his future at Lyon.

However, the Lyon manager is not too concerned about the speculation and even said that the club are set to open talks with the player over a new contract.

When asked about the striker’s future, Fournier said in a press conference: “Whatever might be the case, Lacazette has a contract with the club and we will soon have a discussion over extending it.

“So I am not concerned about this issue.”
