Palermo have set their sights on young Uruguayan striker Jaime Baez as a replacement for Paulo Dybala.

Baez has turned heads with his performances in Uruguay and has earned the label the "new Luis Suarez". His feats have not gone unnoticed, with Liverpool, Napoli and Valencia all positioning themselves to swoop for the 20-year-old.

But Palermo have identified Baez as the perfect replacement for Dybala, who is leaving the club and likely to land at Juventus, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

Palermo have become adept at spotting and signing South American talents, with Dybala just the latest to then prospect and attract interest from Europe's elite.

The Serie A side believe they may be able to repeat the trick with Baez, who currently turns out for Uruguayan outfit Defensor, where he is on loan from Juventud.
