Manchester United linked defender Kamil Glik’s agent is in Italy to negotiate a contract extension for his client with Torino.

The Polish international defender’s performances in Turin this season have brought him onto the radar of some top European clubs and Torino are wary of losing their captain at the end of the season.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Glik and Manchester United are also believed to be on his trail with speculation suggesting that the club have already lodged an enquiry with Torino for the 27-year-old.

Glik still has two more years left on his deal with Torino but the club are unwilling to take any chances with the defender’s future and they are set to offer him a new contract.

According to Tuttosport, the defender’s agent is in Turin at the moment and he is negotiating a new deal for his client with Torino.

The fresh terms are set to extend his stay at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino until at least 2019 and he is set to receive a pay rise of around €1m per season.

Glik is one of the most important members of Giampiero Ventura’s squad and the club are hoping that the new deal will be enough to convince him to resist the temptation of a summer move to England.
