Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that his team’s 2-0 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in January was one of the highlights of the season for him.

The Gunners went on a run of 11 wins from 12 games including their win over the Citizens – a sequence of positive results that put Wenger’s men in the reckoning for the title. They are currently sitting third in the table and have secured a spot in next season’s Champions League.

The north London outfit are also competing for their second consecutive FA Cup, having made it to the final of the domestic cup, where they will play Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa at Wembley later this month.

And Wenger has pointed to the away victory over Manchester City as the highlight of his team’s season, adding that he is pleased with the consistency of his team since the turn of the year.

“For us, maybe it was when we won the big game away from home at Manchester City”, the Frenchman was quoted by his club’s site as saying.
