Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will not call on Tomas Rosicky to help convince Petr Cech to join the Gunners from Chelsea.

Wenger is thought to be chasing the signature of the Blues goalkeeper, a player Rosicky knows well from international duty with the Czech Republic.

But Wenger will not look to make use of Rosicky's personal relationship with Cech in order to tempt the custodian to the Emirates Stadium.

And the Frenchman insists Rosicky is not involved in Arsenal's transfer policy over the summer.

"Tomas Rosicky is not involved in the transfer market at all, he will be with us next season and we do not use the players for that", Wenger was quoted as saying by FIFA.

"Most of the time it is the players who want to join you who come in.

"Sometimes they might call each other, but we do not get the players to interfere with that."

Wenger also confirmed that Arsenal have activated an option in Rosicky's contract to extend his deal by a further year, meaning the 34-year-old will still be at the Emirates Stadium next season.

"We have taken up the option", he said.

Rosicky had been linked with a return to his homeland with Sparta Prague, but Wenger wants to keep the experienced midfielder for a further year.
