Mitchell Dijks' agent has offered his client's suitors hope by insisting that nothing is done and dusted with Ajax.

Frank de Boer held talks with Dijks yesterday at which he attempted to persuade the left-back to return to his former club from Willem II, putting a lucrative contract proposal in front of him.

Ajax also had a 50 per cent sell on clause inserted in their agreement when they sold Dijks to Willem II, meaning they must pay just half the player's €1.3m asking price, something which has made the left-back even more attractive.

It has been assumed the Dutch giants have all but signed Dijks, who has also been linked with Feyenoord, Celtic, AZ Alkmaar and Hertha Berlin.

But that is not the case, the left-back's agent insists.

"It is not a foregone conclusion", Dick van Burik told De Telegraaf, when asked about an Ajax move for his client.

Dijks is thinking over his next move, but is expected to move away from Willem II sooner rather than later.
