Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen is set to make his club debut when the Blaugrana play Deportivo La Coruna in their final match of the league campaign tomorrow.

Vermaelen arrived at the Camp Nou from Premier League outfit Arsenal at the start of the season, but he has been beset by injuries since his arrival and is yet to make an appearance for the Catalan outfit.

The Belgium international has recovered from surgery that he underwent towards the end of last year and has been declared match fit.

Barcelona have clinched the league title following their defeat of Atletico Madrid last weekend and the result of their last match against Deportivo La Coruna will be of no consequence to the four-time Champions League winning side.

Speaking at a press conference, Barcelona boss Luis Enrique was asked if he will be using some of the team’s fringe players and Vermaelen this weekend, and the Asturian replied: "Yes, to both questions.”
