France coach Didier Deschamps is excited to have a look at Paul-Georges Ntep in action after calling him up for international duty.

The Rennes winger has turned heads with his sparkling performances in Ligue 1 this season, earning strong links to Premier League giants Liverpool as a result.

Indeed, it was even claimed Ntep made a secret trip to Liverpool's Melwood training ground ahead of a summer transfer, something his Rennes coach strongly denied.

Deschamps has rewarded Ntep for his good form with an international call and now wants to assess the 22-year-old on the training ground.

"He is a young player who has a different profile, with lots of movement and speed", Deschamps said at a press conference today, explaining Ntep's selection.

"He has done very good things with Rennes. He has been progressing very much.

"It will be an opportunity to integrate him into the France squad and for me to see him on the pitch during training and then certainly during the games", the French boss added.

Ntep has made 34 appearances in Ligue 1 for Rennes so far this season, scoring nine goals in the process.

He could further raise his value in the eyes of his Ligue 1 side by turning on the style on the international stage.
