Liverpool youngster Jordon Ibe is hoping to win trophies with the club after signing a new long-term contract with the Reds.

The 19-year-old winger, who joined the Liverpool academy from Wycombe in 2012, signed a new five-year deal with the club yesterday.

The new contract is a reward for the progress that he has made at the club and Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he expects the youngster to play a bigger role next season.

Ibe impressed during his loan spell at Derby during the first half of the current campaign and has made his mark with the Liverpool first team since his return in January.

The 19-year-old admits that he is elated about committing his long-term future to the club and stressed that he is eagerly looking forward to making a contribution next season.

“I'm over the moon. It's something I've been looking forward to”, Ibe told the club’s official website.

“I've spoken to the gaffer and I'm happy it's over and done with. Now I just want to kick on into next season, as well as the last game of this one.”

Ibe stressed that winning trophies with Liverpool remains a big goal for him and insisted that he wants to help the club to get back to the Champions League next season.

“[I want] to win medals – that's the number one thing for me. I want to help us get back into the Champions League and try to win that one day.

“We were close last year to the league title, so that is another aim – as well as the FA Cup.”

Though he is yet to score a senior goal for Liverpool, Ibe has provided three assists in his 16 appearances for the club.
