Juventus are close to agreeing a deal for Tottenham Hotspur linked midfielder Godfred Donsah with Cagliari.

The 18-year-old Ghanaian enforcer joined Cagliari from Hellas Verona last summer and has caught the imagination of some top clubs with his robust performances in the middle of the park this season in Serie A.

Though still not a regular starter, Donsah has done enough to attract prying eyes towards him and Manchester City and Tottenham scouts have been monitoring his progress at Cagliari for the last few months.

However, the English giants are yet to make a proactive step to snare Donsah away from Cagliari and that has allowed Juventus to barge their way into the transfer saga.

The Italian giants were believed to be in consultation with Cagliari for Donsah over the last few days and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, they are close to reaching an agreement with the Sardinian club for the transfer of the teenager.

It has been claimed that Juventus have agreed to pay a €6m fee to Cagliari for Donsah and have also agreed a four-year deal worth €500,000 per season with the player.

While he is not expected to feature in the Juventus first eleven next season, the club are keen to loan him out to a Serie A outfit to further aid his development.

Cagliari’s relegation to Serie B is believed to have accelerated the deal for Donsah.
