Leeds United are set to appoint Stuart Hayton as their new club secretary, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Hayton is currently club secretary at Liverpool, but is leaving the Merseyside giants this coming summer after just two years in his role.

He joined Liverpool from Wigan Athletic and will be exiting the Reds amid the ongoing saga of Raheem Sterling refusing to sign a new contract.

Leeds owner Massimo Cellino has moved quickly over the last two weeks to put key personnel in place, appointing Adam Pearson as executive director, while earlier this week Uwe Rosler became the club's new head coach.

Rosler is aiming to bring in an assistant, a first team coach and a head of recruitment.

And now a further key appointment is set to be made in the shape of Hayton.

Cellino bemoaned the state of the club when he returned from his Football League ban earlier this month and appears to be putting key staff in place to take the load off his shoulders.
