Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole has stressed Steve Bruce shouldn’t expect any help from his former side when they take on Hull City on Sunday.

The Tigers have to win at home on Sunday against Manchester United and hope West Ham beat Newcastle United in order to secure Premier League survival for this season.

Bruce, a former Manchester United skipper, has a dismal managerial record against his former side and is yet to beat the Red Devils in a league game but he needs this record to change for Hull to avoid relegation.

However, Cole said that the Hull boss shouldn’t expect any favours from Manchester United and is expecting a professional performance from Louis van Gaal’s men.

Though he admits that he wouldn’t enjoy Hull’s relegation, the former striker doesn’t believe Manchester United will lie down to allow the Tigers to record a win.

"Brucie is trying to stay in the division so he will try to wind his team up to beat Manchester United. But that is football at the different ends of the spectrum”, Cole told the club’s official website.

“Of course I would be disappointed to see Brucie go down but it is business.

“You can’t go there as Manchester United and lie down for Steve Bruce. The players will be focused because it is the last game of the season and they want to win it.”

A win would take Manchester United’s tally to 72 points this term, eight points better than last season’s 64.
