Ahead of Sunday’s clash against Everton, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that retiring goalkeeper Brad Friedel may play a part at Goodison Park.

Friedel has announced his retirement from football at the end of the current season after a long professional career that spanned over two decades.

The former United States international has been at White Hart Lane since 2011, but has fallen behind Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm in the pecking order and hasn’t made an appearance this season.

Tottenham are sitting sixth in the Premier League standings as they prepare to face Roberto Martinez’s Everton in their last game of the season and Pochettino has revealed that Friedel may make an appearance in what will be his last professional game.

The Argentine also said that Vorm remains an uncertainty due to his week-long illness and will need to be assessed to see if he is ready to be named in the squad against the Toffees.
