Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has vowed to look to strengthen his squad over the summer transfer window as he aims for his team to hit the ground running next season.

The Gunners ran out 4-1 winners over West Brom at the Emirates Stadium today in their final match of the Premier League season, with Theo Walcott scoring a hat-trick.

Wenger feels that his side could have challenged for the title if they had started the season better and hitting the ground running is his priority for the 2015/16 campaign.

The Arsenal manager said via his club's site: "We hope that everyone comes back from international duty in good shape.

"We have to start strong and we can prepare for that well now because we have no qualifier for the Champions League", Wenger continued.

"We’ll see if we can do something to strengthen the team after."

And the Arsenal boss believes with his side having finished third in the Premier League and as a result going straight into the Champions League at the group stage, they will feel the benefits.

"It’s a massive difference. You go away and you can play in Turkey between two Premier League games at the start of the season, which is never easy."

The Gunners now look forward to the FA Cup final at the end of the month against Aston Villa.
