AC Milan and Juventus are standing ready to make a move for Radamel Falcao when it is confirmed that the Colombian is not staying at Manchester United.

Falcao is on a season-long loan deal at Manchester United from Ligue 1 club Monaco, with the Red Devils having an option to keep him permanently for a fee of €53m.

However, the striker has struggled at Old Trafford, scoring just four goals, and has failed to command a regular starting spot under manager Louis van Gaal.

As a result Manchester United are not expected to exercise their option on Falcao, meaning he will return to Monaco.

According to Italian daily Tuttosport, AC Milan and Juventus will then firm up on their interest in Falcao.

Juventus are thought to prefer Falcao to Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani, who had been top of their shopping list.

And the Italian champions will make a move for the Colombian even if Carlos Tevez stays put this summer.

AC Milan however look up against it in their bid to sign Falcao, with no European football to offer for next season.
