Celtic captain Scott Brown has said that he wants the Hoops to be challenging for the Premiership again next season, saying that his team have the squad to retain the title, but an addition or two would take them a notch higher.

The Bhoys have won their fourth successive league title and having already sealed the League Cup in March following their defeat of Dundee United in the final at Hampden Park, the Scottish giants finished the season with a domestic double.

They were also in the running for the Scottish FA Cup, but exited the tournament at the semi-final stage after losing to Inverness Caledonian Thistle 3-2 last month, thus being denied a historic treble.

Ronny Deila’s men were presented with the Premiership trophy after their 5-0 shellacking of Inverness yesterday and Brown has said that he is eager to see his team win their fifth successive league title next season.

“It was a great day, the pitch was magnificent, the fans were brilliant and we had sun in Scotland – so it was a special occasion”, the Celtic captain told his club’s site.

“Everyone you lift, especially if you are going for so many in a row, is extra special and if we can do it again next year it would be even more so.

“The squad is fit and strong and if the gaffer adds one or two, then brilliant. If not we are definitely good enough the way we are. We showed our class and showed how good we are. Under pressure, we thrive.

“Everyone in that squad are enjoying their football and are keen to lean, so as long as we continue that, it will be good season for us next year as well.”
