David de Gea has refused to shed light on his future at Manchester United, despite being urged to do so by manager Louis van Gaal.

The Spanish custodian has just a year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford and has so far not put pen to paper on an extension even though he has been offered a lucrative deal to remain.

De Gea is wanted by Real Madrid, however Van Gaal is still hopeful the custodian will snub Los Blancos' advances.

But De Gea, hunted down by Spanish TV programme El Chiringuito, is staying mum over what he might do in the summer.

"I can't say anything", was all the Spaniard would offer when questioned about his future.

De Gea is currently out of action with a hamstring niggle and did not feature in Manchester United's final game of the season, a 0-0 draw away at Hull City yesterday, with Victor Valdes taking his place.

But Van Gaal was still questioned about De Gea after the match and said it is for the goalkeeper to speak out on his future.

De Gea however is staying quiet at present, with Manchester United fans continuing to be in the dark over whether he will play for the club next season.
