Liverpool are showing interest in two Monaco players in the shape of defender Aymen Abdennour and midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.

Monaco are preparing to sell a number of players this summer as they bid to remain on the right side of UEFA's financial fair play rules. The principality club have just received Radamel Falcao upon the conclusion of his loan spell at Manchester United and now Monaco are scrambling to offload the Colombian, who earns €14m per year.

Other players are also on the chopping block and Liverpool are amongst a number of sides keen on two, according to French sports daily L'Equipe.

Defender Abdennour turned heads with his solid displays at the heart of Monaco's defence in the Champions League, while domestically Les Rouges et Blancs conceded just 26 goals in Ligue 1 this term.

Kondogbia meanwhile is the other man on Liverpool's radar and further enhanced his reputation through a series of commanding performances in midfield as Monaco marched to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
