Former West Ham defender Slaven Bilic has revealed that he will leave his post as the manager of Besiktas at the end of the season.

With Sam Allardyce having left his post as the manager of West Ham after a 2-0 loss against Newcastle United, the former defender has been tipped to take over from him.

And Bilic has done nothing to play down the speculation, confirming that he won't be the man in charge for the Turkish side the next season.

Bilic's stint with Besiktas saw him fail to win the domestic league during his two-year stay at the club. Moreover, a 2-0 loss to Galatasaray yesterday means that the Black Eagles won't be playing in the Champions League next term.

Taking full responsibility for the failure, the 46-year-old stressed that he has already made his decision to leave the club.

"I won't be Besiktas's manager next season", Bilic was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"I'm proud of what I've done here.

"As I said before, I am the first one who is going to take responsibility for not winning the league for two years.

"I have already made my decision."

Bilic played for the Hammers just for over a year between 1996 and 1997, managing 48 appearances for the club.
