Celtic midfielder Kris Commons has said that the Hoops need to keep improving upon their performances going into next season, adding that they are targeting the domestic treble and a foray into the Champions League group stage in the 2015/16 campaign.

Ronny Deila’s side won their fourth successive league title and having wrapped up the League Cup in March with a 2-0 defeat of Dundee United in the final, the Hoops have finished the season with a domestic double.

They also came close to winning the domestic treble, but were beaten in the semi-final of the Scottish FA Cup by Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

However, their exit at the playoff stage from the Champions League was a notable failure from an otherwise successful campaign and Commons wants to rectify that in the upcoming season.

Underlining Celtic’s targets for the 2015/16 campaign, the midfielder said the Bhoys will be targeting the domestic treble and will attempt to venture into the group stage of the Champions League.

“We have to just keep improving and never stand still, thinking that the job is done”, the 31-year-old was quoted as saying by his club’s website.

“We’ve got to improve every single year and there are certain goals that we’ve still not reached.

“Our target is the treble and then the Champions League group stages will be a requirement every year, so for us it’s all about improving, keep improving and if we can do that then it’s on to the next title.”
