Carlo Ancelotti’s agent has claimed that former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is almost certain to become the next Real Madrid manager.
The former AC Milan and Chelsea boss was sacked by Real Madrid last night after he failed to win any of the major trophies for the club this season.
Real Madrid finished second behind Barcelona in La Liga and were knocked out of the Champions League semi-finals by Juventus this season.
There has been speculation that Benitez, whose contract with Napoli runs out this summer, is in talks with Real Madrid to succeed Ancelotti at the Bernabeu but the club are yet to say anything on the matter.
However, Ernesto Bronzetti, Ancelotti’s agent, claimed that the deal is all but done and Benitez is almost certain to become the next Real Madrid boss.
