Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta admits that the club might soon succeed in signing Arsenal target Sami Khedira.

The German midfielder is out of contract at Real Madrid this summer and announced earlier this year that he will leave the club at the end of the season.

Arsenal have been on his trail since last summer and were hoping to sign him on a free transfer until Juventus decided to barge into the negotiations for Khedira.

The Bianconeri have taken rapid strides over the last week or so to sign the 27-year-old and there is speculation that their sporting director, Fabio Paratici, will fly to Germany to finalise the deal with the player’s representatives.

It has also been claimed that Khedira will arrive in Turin between today and tomorrow to undergo a medical before signing on the dotted line with Juventus.

While he stressed that the deal is not done yet, Marotta admits that Juventus are on Khedira’s trail and he believes everything could be done and dusted soon.

“Khedira is under our assessment but we are not the only ones [after him]”, the Juventus CEO was quoted as saying by Tutto Mercato.

“It is an opportunity offered by the market and we can sign him up immediately.”
