Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has emerged as the top attacking target for Juventus this summer.

The Italian champions and the Champions League finalists are keen to further strengthen their attack to build on this season’s showing both domestically and in Europe.

Juventus were on Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani’s trail but the Parisians are refusing to make the Uruguayan available in the market.

The Bianconeri were also interested in Radamel Falcao but his wages are believed to be beyond the club’s financial reach.

Therefore, according to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, Van Persie has emerged as the club’s priority summer target for their attack.

The club have been on the Dutchman’s trail for some time now and the player’s agent held talks with Juventus officials last week on the sidelines of the Italian Cup final.

Roma are interested in acquiring Van Persie’s signature and though Fenerbahce are also believed to be trying for him, the Dutchman is not willing to move to Turkey as he wants to continue to play in one of the major European leagues.

His contract with Manchester United runs out next summer and the club are yet to offer him fresh terms.

It has also been speculated that the club are willing to listen to offers for Van Persie this summer.
