Tottenham Hotspur have thrown their hat into the ring for Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

Mandzukic is tipped to leave Atletico Madrid this summer, having been linked with AC Milan of late, while Diego Simeone's Spanish giants are looking towards Gonzalo Higuain as a potential replacement.

Now Spurs are set to give AC Milan company in the chase for Mandzukic and are keen to tempt him to White Hart Lane.

Tottenham are already thought to be making moves towards signing Argentine forward Ezequiel Lavezzi from Paris Saint-Germain, but also want Mandzukic.

The striker only joined Atletico Madrid last summer from Bayern Munich after falling out of favour under Pep Guardiola in Germany.
