Leeds United manager Uwe Rosler believes that his club have exciting times ahead of them but they need to find the right balance between being ambitious and realistic.

The former Wigan boss, who took over from former boss Neil Redfearn last week, is optimistic about bringing back a positive vibe to Elland Road after a disappointing 2014/15 domestic season.

However, Rosler is also cautious about being over-excited and has urged the players and fans to be realistic about their ambitions next season.

He also took time to praise former manager Redfearn, who he believes has left a solid foundation on which Rosler has to build on.

“I’m very excited to work with that group of players who I see as having great potential to go up the table", Rolser told his club's official website.

“I think Neil Redfearn left a very solid foundation for me to build on and put the next building block in place.

“These are exciting times, we just need to get the balance right between being ambitious and having realistic expectations.”

Rosler also spoke about his optimism about seeing the core group of players stay at Elland Road as he believes that they have a bright future ahead of them.

“Like we all know, football is a financial-driven business, but we discussed it and I believe what I got told – that the nucleus of the team will stay, definitely.

“The players did well and have their careers in front of them.”

The Peacocks are desperate to have a good 2015/16 domestic season after having finished last term in a disappointing 15th.
