West Ham have confirmed that they will be involved in the Europa League next season after finishing top of the Premier League's Fair Play standings.

The Hammers faced a nervous wait following the final match of the season at the weekend, but have now been confirmed as the top placed side in the table and will enter the Europa League at the first qualifying round on 2nd July.

The managerless club will have three qualifying rounds to navigate before they will reach the playoff round, which is held directly before the group stage.

West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan has saluted the achievement and is looking forward to what he feels could be a "fantastic experience" for the Hammers.

"We are delighted to have won a place in the UEFA Europa League as we want to ensure the Boleyn Ground the best send-off possible, and progress in this competition will certainly help with that", Sullivan said via his club's site.

"Starting in early July will bring its challenges, but everyone at the club, from the Board to the players and supporters will be relishing the opportunity to feature on the European stage. It should be a fantastic experience."

England's other representatives in the Europa League are Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. A fourth representative will be confirmed after the FA Cup final, with Aston Villa and Southampton the contenders, dependent upon the result between Arsenal and Aston Villa at Wembley.
