Liverpool target and Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic is keen to continue at AS Roma next season.

The 25-year-old midfielder is one of the key elements of Rudi Garcia’s Roma team and has enjoyed another fruitful season at the Stadio Olimpico.

His consistent showings in Serie A have attracted the attention of Liverpool, who are believed to be in the market for a midfielder who will be able to replace Steven Gerrard at Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers has been keeping a close watch on him and is keen to take him to England in the summer.

The Bosnian is also an admired figure at Barcelona and is being considered as a replacement for outgoing legend Xavi at the Nou Camp, however the Blaugrana are banned from making any signings until 2016.

However, despite all the speculation surrounding his future, Pjanic is not willing to leave the club and according to Corriere dello Sport, he has told Roma that he wants to stay at the Stadio Olimpico for one more season.

The 25-year-old feels settled with the Giallorossi and doesn’t want to change his surroundings this summer.

With 45 appearances in all competitions, Pjanic has continued to exert his control on the Roma midfield in the absence of Kevin Strootman this season.

The latest development might favour Barcelona, who would only be able to sign Pjanic in January.
