Ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup final against Aston Villa, Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has said that he is keen on helping the Gunners win their 12th cup and move past Manchester United in the process.

Arsenal and Manchester United have both won the prestigious domestic cup 11 times each and a win this weekend over Aston Villa will push the Gunners past the Red Devils.

Arsene Wenger’s men are competing for their second consecutive FA Cup, having won the final against Hull City last year at Wembley.

Giroud, who has scored 18 times and assisted a further four goals in all competitions this season to help his team finish in third, is keen to add to his goal tally this Saturday to help his team get past Manchester United.

“I play football to make history, to make my family and friends proud”, the France striker told Arsenal Player.

"In several years, when my career is over, I would like to leave one or two good memories of my time here with Arsenal.

“I would like to win every trophy that I can so one more would be nice, and even more to become the only team with 12 wins.

“It’s the big trophy after the Premier League.”

Giroud has scored two goals in this FA Cup campaign, both of which came in their fifth round win over Middlesbrough.
