Tottenham Hotspur starlet Harry Winks has expressed his delight at being selected for the Lilywhites’ post-season tour of Malaysia and Australia.

Winks has been on the periphery of first team action for Spurs and made one appearance for the senior side in the Europa League against Serbian outfit FK Partizan in a 1-0 win for his side.

The 19-year-old has been a regular with the Tottenham Hotspur Under-21 side and made 18 appearances in the Under-21 Premier League. He scored twice in the young Spurs’ campaign as they finished ninth in the league standings.

The youngster is happy to have found a place in the squad for their post-season tour and is hoping to make an appearance in either of the two matches that the north Londoners are scheduled to play against a Malaysia XI and Sydney FC respectively.

“I’m honoured to be selected and to get the opportunity to travel with the team", the youngster told his club’s site.

“Obviously it will be a challenge because it’s going to be a different sort of climate and atmosphere to what I’m used to in England, but whatever happens it’s sure to be a very good experience for me.

“As far as the matches go, I’ll be looking to try to get myself in and around the squad and hopefully I may get an opportunity in one of the games, but for me personally it’s a great honour and achievement just to be selected to go on the tour.”

Tottenham Hotspur ended their league campaign with a 1-0 win over Everton, which saw them finish in fifth in the table.
