Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini has not lost hope of signing Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure this summer.

The Ivorian is Mancini’s priority transfer target for the summer window and he is believed to be personally overseeing the logistics of signing Toure from Manchester City.

The Nerazzurri are aware of their financial limitations but have been doing all the heavy lifting over the last few months to cobble together an acceptable offer for the midfielder.

They are believed to be in constant touch with the 32-year-old’s representatives for the transfer but his agent claimed earlier this week that Toure will stay at Manchester City for next season.

The bombshell from Toure’s agent has not dampened Mancini’s spirit and the Inter boss is still hoping that a deal to bring him to the San Siro can be agreed.

“Next season we will have a competitive team”, Mancini told Sky Italia.

“I hope we can get Toure for the fans.”

Toure is currently on Manchester City’s post-season tour of Canada and there is speculation that his future at the club will be sorted out as soon as they return from their North America tour.
