Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths believes that the Hoops are motivated to go for a fifth successive league title next season, adding that they will be targeting the domestic treble and Champions League group stage in the next campaign.

The Hoops won their fourth successive league title and having secured the League Cup with a defeat of Dundee United in the final at Hampden Park in March, they ended the season with a domestic double.

They came close to securing the treble, but succumbed to a 3-2 loss at the hands of Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the final of the Scottish FA Cup.

Griffiths, who contributed 20 goals and three assists to the Bhoys campaign, has said that at a club of Celtic’s calibre, where success is demanded, they are eager to continue winning more trophies in the coming season and are targeting the treble and a group stage foray in the Champions League next term.

“It won’t be hard for us to maintain our standards because this is Celtic and success is demanded. You can’t drop your standards and the manager had that installed in us from day one", he told his club's site.

“He said this year that he wanted to go for the treble and we were very unlucky not to get there but next season we’ll want the exact same and to get to the Champions League as well.

“That’s the manager’s main aim and we’ll be looking to do that.

“It’s magic to win and it’s the whole reason I signed here, to win trophies. I won the league last season but it was already won by the time I arrived really.

“This season I’ve had a big part to play so it feels really special.”
