Manchester City are one of the top clubs who are keeping a close watch on Europa League winning Sevilla boss Unai Emery.

The 43-year-old Spaniard masterminded Sevilla’s second successive Europa League triumph when they beat Dnipro in a thrilling final in Warsaw last night.

Emery’s stock as a young and dynamic coach has never been higher after last night’s triumph and a number of top clubs have jotted his name down on their wish list.

Though Rafael Benitez remains the favourite to succeed Carlo Ancelotti at the Bernabeu, Real Madrid are believed to have sounded Sevilla about Emery and AC Milan are also known to be keeping the 43-year-old under close watch.

According to AS, Manchester City are also following developments surrounding Emery and are impressed with the young coach’s performance at Sevilla.

Should Manuel Pellegrini be shown the door at the Etihad this summer, the club might make a move for Emery and look to install him as their new manager.

However, Emery has indicated that he wants to stay at Sevilla and said: “I am very happy here.”

Sevilla have knocked back any suggestion that the 43-year-old might leave the club for greener pastures this summer.
