Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini has made a personal call to Yaya Toure to convince him to join the Italian giants.

Mancini has shared a good relationship with the Manchester City midfielder since his days at the Etihad and wants to reunite with him at the San Siro.

It is widely known that Toure is a priority summer transfer target for Inter and the club have been putting in the hard yards over the last few months to get the deal over the line.

Despite their financial constraints, the Nerazzurri are prepared to offer a lucrative contract to the 32-year-old midfielder and were quietly confident of signing him this summer.

However, Inter received a rude shock earlier this week when it emerged Toure is set to reject their advances and wants to continue at Manchester City next season.

In a last ditch attempt, Mancini has stepped in to salvage the deal and according to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, the former Manchester City boss has called the midfielder to convince him to join Inter.

The Nerazzurri are hoping that Mancini’s personal relationship with Toure might still convince the midfielder to pack his bags for Milan in the summer.

Toure is currently on Manchester City’s post-season tour of Canada.
