Outgoing Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is set to make his debut for MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy on 11th July.

The MLS outfit will take part in the International Champions Cup this summer and the 34-year-old’s first appearance for his new side is expected to be against Mexico's Club America in the International Champions Cup.

LA Galaxy coach Bruce Arena has revealed that he expects Gerrard to arrive in the US soon and is eager to get him involved with the rest of the team.

"We expect him here before July 11”, Arena told LA Galaxy’s official website.

“He'll get some training in and by the time that he's eligible to play, he'll be ready to go.”

The former England captain announced in January this year that he would be leaving Liverpool this summer and signed a two-year deal with LA Galaxy.

Though Gerrard scored in his last game in English football, Liverpool were thrashed 6-1 at Stoke City on the last day of the season.

He made 710 appearances for the Reds and led the side to their fifth European Cup in 2005. However, despite winning all the major cup competitions, Gerrard never got his hands on the Premier League trophy in his career.
