Lyon manager Hubert Fournier admits that Arsenal and Liverpool target Alexandre Lacazette’s future at the club is far from certain.

The French international forward has been the standout performer for Lyon this season and his 27 Ligue 1 goals dragged the club to a second place finish behind champions Paris Saint-Germain.

However, the 24-year-old’s scintillating displays in France have also attracted the prying eyes of clubs across Europe and heavyweight sides such as Arsenal and Liverpool have been said to be vying for his signature this summer.

While Lyon are adamant that that they don’t want to sell the striker, Lacazette himself has been giving mixed signals over the past few weeks, leading to speculation that his future at the club is uncertain.

The Lyon boss admits that he is bracing for an uncertain summer regarding Lacazette, but conceded that the interest in the forward is expected because of his performance this season.

“Yes it is true [his future is uncertain] but he has been the best player in the league, the top scorer”, Fournier told L’Equipe.

When asked whether he is eyeing replacements for Lacazette, the Lyon boss shot back: “I will not answer the question as he has not yet left.”
