Kevin Wimmer says leaving 1.FC Koln to join Tottenham Hotspur was not an easy decision, but he believes the chance to play at White Hart Lane was too good to turn down.

Spurs announced the signing of Wimmer from the Bundesliga club today on a five-year contract and the Austria international is now all set for his Premier League adventure.

But leaving a side he joined in 2012 from LASK Linz is not easy to do, Wimmer admits, as he leaves Germany with many fond memories of his time with the Billy Goats.

"Tottenham is a great opportunity for me", the defender told Koln's official site.

"It is not easy for me to leave FC.
