Liverpool target Aymen Abdennour’s agent has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are some of the top clubs who are interested in signing his client.

The 25-year-old Monaco defender is generating considerable interest from clubs across Europe who are looking for a robust centre half in the transfer window this summer.

Brendan Rodgers is keen to buy a central defender for his Liverpool squad and Abdennour’s name features prominently on his shortlist of targets, it has been claimed.

However, Liverpool are not the only club who are monitoring the Tunisian international at the Stade Louis II as a number of sides across Europe are keeping a close watch on the defender.

Though his injury concerns this season have been a cause for worry for his suitors, his performances in the 26 appearances he has made in all competitions have earned praise from all corners.

“We have received calls from clubs and sporting directors but at the moment there is no deal.

“Clubs such as Valencia, Newcastle, Tottenham, Inter and Wolfsburg have called.

“We have received concrete offers from these parties and they are really interested in Aymen.”

Abdennour is also a regular for Tunisia and has 41 international caps to his name.
