Bayern Munich are not going to try to sign Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling this summer.

Though Brendan Rodgers has said that Sterling is not going anywhere, the 20-year-old England international is believed to be keen to leave Liverpool at the end of the season and a number of top clubs across Europe are said to be monitoring the situation at Anfield.

Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer revealed his admiration for Sterling yesterday, leading to speculation that the club are interested in signing the youngster.

While the winger was on their radar, it has been claimed that the German champions will not follow up on their interest in Sterling with a concrete bid this summer.

According to German daily Bild, Sterling and his agent did have a discussion with the Bavarians but they have reached a unanimous conclusion that the move won’t fit either of the parties.

Liverpool are believed to be desperate to hold on to the player and have made it clear that they are unlikely to entertain any bids for the 20-year-old.

However, Sterling is said to be actively seeking a move away from Anfield at the end of the season and will further evaluate his options once the international transfer window opens on Monday.
