Manchester United target Kevin De Bruyne is expected to sign a new lucrative five-year contract with Wolfsburg.

With 28 assists and 15 goals in 50 appearances in all competitions this season, De Bruyne is one of the most sought after playmakers in world football and a number of top clubs are closely monitoring his situation at the Volkswagen Arena.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be keen to get their hands on the 23-year-old and are willing to offer big money to prise him away from Wolfsburg this summer.

However, the Wolves have been maintaining that De Bruyne will stay at the club for at least one more season and spearhead their Champions League campaign next term.

As confirmed by Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs earlier this week, the club are set to open talks with the player’s representatives over a new lucrative contract following today’s German Cup final.

According to Het Laatste Nieuws, the outlines of the contract are more or less agreed and De Bruyne will soon put pen to paper on a new five-year deal with the Bundesliga outfit.

The new deal will hike his salary from €4.5m per year to around €9m to €11m per season and it will contain a release clause of around €60m to €70m.

While De Bruyne has been giving missed signals about his future at the club, the new deal will keep him at the Volkswagen Arena for at least until next summer.
