Arsene Wenger has suggested that whether he remains in charge of Arsenal past the end of his current contract depends upon the faith the club's directors still have in him to deliver.

The Frenchman led Arsenal to a crushing 4-0 FA Cup final win over Aston Villa today at Wembley, giving the Gunners their 12th success in the competition and putting them top of the tree in terms of FA Cup wins.




The trophy was also Wenger's sixth FA Cup as Arsenal manager, while it meant too that the Gunners retained the cup they won last year.

The 65-year-old has another two years left on his contract at Arsenal and was asked about his future and how long he might stay at the club for.
 

 

And he put the ball over remaining as Arsenal manager past 2017 in the hands of the club's board, with how much they back him crucial.

"I am very proud our club is doing well and if I can personally do well as well it's even better", he said on the BBC, speaking from the Wembley pitch.

"I don't know [how much longer I want to be Arsenal manager], that's difficult to say.

"I have two more years on my contract and I will just always sit down with my directors and see how much they believe and trust.

"My hunger is great, but I want to do well", Wenger added.

The Arsenal boss will now set his sights on leading the Gunners to their first Premier League title since the 2003/04 season in the 2015/16 campaign. Wenger's men finished third in the Premier League this season.
