Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos feels that Rafael Benitez will be a success at the Santiago Bernabeu as he comes to the club with bags of experience.

Los Blancos ended their campaign without any major silverware following their Champions League and Copa del Rey triumphs of last season and it eventually cost manager Carlo Ancelotti his job.

The Madrid giants are set to appoint Benitez as their new manager, the confirmation of which is expected to be announced on Wednesday at the Bernabeu.

Benitez has extensive managerial experience, having coached in England, Italy, as well as Spain, and has won the Champions League with Liverpool, and the Europa League with Chelsea and Valencia.

Long-serving defender Ramos feels that a manager of Benitez’s experience is likely to be a success at the Bernabeu.

"Until it is not officially confirmed by the club I cannot make any comment on that, but what I can say is that he is a great coach with great experience who has been in England, Italy and Spain and has won and whenever you bring a coach with this kind of experience you are always good”, he was quoted as saying by Marca.

"I'm not the best placed to decide if it is the best solution or not, but that's for the officials to decide.”

Benitez was last in charge of Serie A side Napoli, who were in the race for Champions League qualification until the last match day of the league, but eventually finished in fifth.
