Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that he will not be taking over at AC Milan this summer, as he needs to take a break from the pressure of management.

The former Chelsea manager was recently sacked by Real Madrid after failing to lead Los Blancos to a major trophy this season; he will be replaced by ex-Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez.

AC Milan, who have endured another disappointing season in Serie A with a tenth place finish, made a big push to persuade Ancelotti to take over and turn around their fortunes.

But Ancelotti insists he needs time away from management.

He took to his Twitter account to write: "Thanks to @acmilan for their support interest.
