Arsenal forward Theo Walcott has labelled the current Gunners’ squad “special” and feels that they are destined to achieve more success in the future.

Walcott opened the scoring against Aston Villa in the final of the FA Cup last weekend as the Gunners prevailed 4-0 over Tim Sherwood’s side and thereby won their second consecutive FA Cup.

The England international is pleased with the achievement of his team and feels that the club faithful can expect more silverware in the future.

“It [winning the FA Cup in successive years] just shows that it's a special team and we are going to continue to win many more, I am sure”, he told Arsenal Soundcloud.

When the 26-year-old was asked if there is a sense among the club’s fans that Arsenal are building something big for the future, he replied: “Without a doubt.

“It's just the incredible amount of support that we have, not just in England but around the whole world.”

He further added that Arsenal are looking to add more silverware to their trophy cabinet in the coming seasons, adding that the current Gunners’ squad is the best that he has played in.

“We want to do this [winning trophies] more and more for these guys [fans] because they deserve it and this group, these players deserve this because I have been there for a long time and this is the best group.”

Walcott ended his league campaign with a hat-trick against West Bromwich Albion in a 4-1 defeat of Tony Pulis’ team.
