Inter Milan target Medhi Benatia’s agent has stressed that his client is happy at Bayern Munich and is in no mood to leave the club.

Struggling with form and injuries in his first season at Bayern Munich, there was speculation that the Bavarians were ready to let the player go this summer.

With Bayern Munich seemingly willing to sell the 28-year-old, Inter sensed an opportunity and lodged an enquiry for the Moroccan international last week.

However, it has emerged that the Bavarians are in no mood to sell Benatia and club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge personally vetoed Inter’s attempts to take the defender back to Italy.

Moussa Sissoko, the Moroccan’s agent, stressed that his client is happy at the Allianz Arena and has no intention of returning to Italy at the moment.

“He is happy in Munich and wants to stay here”, Sissoko told Corriere dello Sport.

“He has no intention of changing clubs and has no nostalgic feelings for Italy.”

Bayern Munich forked out €28m last summer to sign the Moroccan international defender from Roma.

Injuries and form have relegated Benatia to just 15 league appearances this term but the club are confident of extracting the best out of him next season.
