Memphis Depay is confident that he will continue to score goals for Manchester United despite the higher level of the Premier League.

Manchester United agreed a €31m deal with PSV Eindhoven for the transfer of the Dutch winger last month and he has already passed a medical with the club.

Depay scored 22 goals in 30 Eredivisie appearances this season and played a crucial role in PSV winning the league title after seven years.

The 21-year-old admits that the higher level of the Premier League will make goalscoring a tougher task but he also pointed out that he will have better team-mates to play with at Manchester United.

The Dutchman stressed that though he might not hit the sort of numbers he managed in the Netherlands, he is confident that he will continue to score goals in England despite it being a harder league than the Eredivisie.

“The level of the Premier League will make it harder for me to score and create opportunities”, Depay told the Algemeen Dagblad.

“But on the other hand I will have better team-mates at Manchester United so it is hard to compare.

“However, if you ask me I would have scored 15 of the 22 goals that I scored this season in England.”

Depay scored 50 goals and provided 29 assists in his 124 appearances for PSV and has also scored twice for the Dutch national team.
