Sampdoria are keen on signing Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen this summer, according to Sky Italia.

The 19-year-old joined Chelsea in 2012 from Brondby. Christensen is a highly-rated defender and made his Premier League debut in the Blues’ final game of the season against Sunderland in a 3-1 win.




The youngster played alongside Nemanja Matic in the Blues’ midfield in his only Premier League appearance.

A regular for the Chelsea Under-21 side, he made 21 appearances in all competitions for the young Blues as they ended their season with the UEFA Youth League and the FA Youth Cup trophies.
 


His performances this term have seen Italian Serie A side Sampdoria interested in securing his signature this summer.

Sampdoria finished their league campaign in seventh and are looking to add to their squad in order to challenge for Champions League qualification next term.

Christensen is a Denmark Under-21 international and has 15 appearances under his belt for them.

He has made played 43 games for Chelsea Under-21 side and has four goals to his name.
